I know most about Tomas and Mercedes, but hardly anything about the others. cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4405/1091/320/SoldierPete2.jpg" border="0" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pedro proudly served our country in WWI&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He enlisted on  Oct 2, 1917 in Globe AZ.  &lt;br /&gt;He was sent to Camp Kearny in California as part of the First Arizona Volunteer Infantry.&lt;br /&gt;The 158th Infantry Regiment was known, as the First Arizona Volunteer Infantry. &lt;br /&gt;The Regiment was drafted into Federal Service for World War I, August 5, 1917 as part of the 40th Division. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The 40th Infantry Division (Mechanized) was born at Camp Kearney California at San Diego on 16 September 1917 in response to the nation's entry in to World War I. &lt;br /&gt;Known simply as the 40th Division (there were not yet cavalry or armored divisions) it was made up of National Guard unit from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. It was soon decided that the new division's nickname would be the "Sunshine" Division &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He was honorably disharged on April 7, 1919 &lt;br /&gt;His rank was sargeant of Company L,  158th Infantry, US Army &lt;br /&gt;He served overseas in France from June 28, 1918 - March 11, 1919 &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;My Dad's Medals&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The "Croix de Guerre" (Cross of War) is a french award for bravery for military personnel mentioned in dispatches.  There was a red ribbon with vertical green stripes that went with this award.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4405/1091/1600/medalcross.jpg"&gt;&lt;img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4405/1091/320/medalcross.jpg" border="0" alt="" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is a web photo of the Victory Medal of WWI.
